40 new homes at Louis Armstrongweg 26 in Almere

Elfi has purchased the commercial building at Louis Armstrongweg 26 with plans to develop it into 40 energy-efficient homes with district heating and an A++ energy label. The building is located in the Muziekwijk neighborhood, in Almere Stad West. 

For this project, WJ projects and ENZO architects are construction team partners. The future building will be expanded with 2 additional floors, bringing the total to 6 floors. The existing basement will be reused and needs to be adapted to support the extra floors. Therefore, the architect and the structural engineer have designed a lightweight construction to make this possible. The existing building will be carefully dismantled so that the old structure can be reused in another project.
